Vice Provost of Georgia Institute of Technology, USA visits Tongji

On Mar. 29, President Pei Gang and Vice President Dong Qi met with Dr. Paul Kohn, Vice Provost from Georgia Institute of Technology, USA, discussing how to enhance students’ cultivation, promote students’ exchange and double-degree program in architecture.

President Pei Gang introduced the general situation of Tongji University’s international cooperation and the efforts to establish a campus of sustainable development with Dr. Paul Kohn. President Pei stated that Georgia Institute of Technology and Tongji University had a lot in common and also expressed the wish to establish a stable and all-around long-term collaborative relationship with Georgia Institute of Technology in various forms on the basis of student exchange in the field of architecture and urban planning. Besides, Vice President Dong Qi introduced the English course development, international student fostering, the alumni association and the foundation of Tongji University and said Tongji aimed to be an internationalized university and cultivate society-oriented graduates with an internationalized vision. Dr. Paul Kohn showed his agreement, saying all the proposals brought up would be further promoted during President Pei’s visit to Georgia Institute of Technology in April.
