The first Governing Board Meeting of CDH (Chinesisch-Deutsche Hochschule) was hold in Tongji on March 23. More than 20 members of Governing Board, coming from Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Chinese Ministry of Education, Chinese Ministry of Science & Technology, China Scholarship Council, National Science Foundation China, Federal Foreign Office, Federal Ministry of Education and Research, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), German Research Foundation (DFG) as well as several German partner universities, universities of applied sciences and companies, attended the meeting. They discussed over the rules of procedure, goals and future of CDH. During the meeting, President Pei Gang and Dr. Christian Bode, former Secretary General of DAAD, as chairman and vice chairman of the Governing Board, made speeches.
In future, Sino-German College for Graduate Study (CDHK), Sino-German College of Applied Sciences (CDHAW) and Institute of Vocational Instructors (IBB) of Tongji University will serve under the same roof of “CDH” to increase the synergic effect and visibility of the present cooperation projects of Tongji University. Moreover, CDH will start a new project named "Sino-German Campus" (CDC), which will provide a new base for German students in China and also a platform for the cultural communication between Chinese and German students.
