On Nov. 14-20, Vice President Chen Yiyi led a delegation to Superior Technical Institute (IST), Portugal and Polytechnic University of Catalonia (UPC), Spain, and signed Framework Agreement and Double Degree Agreement in Civil Engineering with both institutions respectively.

Prof. Chen gave a speech named Sino-European Engineering Platform in IST, talking about the work realized and to be done by Tongji as secretariat of this Platform in China. As IST holds currently the presidency of the Platform and will host the 2nd Session of Sino-European Workshop on Engineering Education, this visit became a great opportunity for both to exchange ideas on the subject.

All the representatives from colleges and departments also took the chance to establish direct communication with their counterparts in IST and UPC and settle the work plan for the next stage. During the visit, Tongji participated in the International Day organized by IST and UPC on November 16th and 18th respectively to get face-to-face communication with the students.
