From 3rd to 7th of November, President Pei Gang participated in the 2nd Cross-Strait University Presidents Forum in Chung Chi University, Taiwan. The forum focused on higher education in the era of globalization as well as the problems and challenges the university has to face and the mechanism in the cooperation of the cross-strait education. Pei introduced in his speech some aspects of the development of Tongji University and the important role that the Excellence Program has played in social elites training.

During the visit, President Pei visited Yang Ming University, National Research Institute of Chinese Medicine, Shih Hsin University, Feng Chia University, Chinese Medical University, and signed cooperation agreements in student exchange respectively with Feng Chia University and Shih Hsin University.
