On October 26th, Prof. Dong Qi, Vice President of Tongji University, awarded the Certificate of Honorary Professor of Tongji University to Prof. Franciszek Grucza from Warsaw University, the former chairman of International Association for Germanic Studies (IVG). Prof. Dong highly appreciated Prof. Grucza for his great contribution of carrying forward the Germanic characteristic of Tongji University.

The Handover Ceremony of the Chairman of IVG was held on the same day. Prof. Grucza transferred the official seal and relevant documents to Prof. Zhu Jianhua from Department of German in Tongji University, the newly-elected chairman of International Germanic Academy.

Prof. Ma Qiuwu and Prof. Lu Peiming from the School of Foreign Languages, and representatives from German Consulate General in Shanghai, Polish Consulate General in Shanghai, DAAD and Goethe-Institute attended the ceremony.
