Dr. John P. Holdren, Assistant to the U.S. President for Science and Technology, Visits Tongji

On the morning of October 15th, Dr. John P. Holdren, the Assistant to the U.S. President for Science and Technology and the Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, paid a visit to Tongji University and gave a speech entitled “Science, Technology, & Innovation Strategy in the Obama Administration”, one of Tongji Global Vision Series Lectures.

In his speech, Dr. Holdren analyzed the challenges that United States is facing in Science and Technology innovation at home and abroad and introduced the support system of Obama administration. He said that Obama administration would continue to enhance international cooperation with developing countries including China in the field of clean air and water, clean energy, effective energy research, natural reserve and wetlands protection. At the end of the speech, Dr. Holdren traced the good traditions of Sino-US cooperation and spoke highly of the recent cooperation on new energy.
