On the 17th of October, a delegation from German Research Association (DFG) led by Prof. Dr. Matthias Kleiner, the DFG-Chairman, visited Tongji University. President Pei Gang met the delegation. Prof. Pei warmly welcomed the delegation and introduced the latest development of Tongji, especially about the reform of engineering education, and hoped that Dr. Kleiner would support the two proposed Sino- German doctoral school projects in Tongji.

After the meeting, Prof. Zhou Jialun, Chairman of the University Council, invited the delegation for dinner. Deans from involved schools of Tongji attended the dinner.

The delegation also visited the New Energy Center and Wind Tunnel Laboratory on Jiading Campus.
