On October 12th, College of Automotive Engineering of Tongji University and JTEKT Cooperation held an inauguration ceremony for Joint Laboratory of Automotive Active Safety Technology on Jiading Campus of Tongji University. At the ceremony, Itou Hiroshi, the Senior Director of JTEKT, and Nakano SHIROU, the Executive Director of JTEKT were named the Guest Professors of Tongji. At the ceremony, JTEKT products were also exhibited. Li Yongsheng, the Executive Vice President of Tongji University attended the ceremony.

Itou Hiroshi and Nakano SHIROU gave presentations on “Research of automotive important safety components of JTEKT” and “SBW Development and Prospects for Active Safety Technology”. Teachers and students from the College of Automotive Engineering of Tongji, some technical experts from automotive manufacturing industry and institutions also attended the event.

In the evening, Dong Qi, Vice President of Tongji met with the newly-awarded guest professors and other corporate executives. He hoped that business companies would involve more in education and research and enhance the bilateral cooperation and achieve mutual development.
