On the morning of September 20th, president Pei Gang met with Mr. Steinbach, president of Technical University of Berlin, and Mrs. Skurski from Foreign Affairs Office. Relative personnel from College of Mechanical Engineering, Sino-German College, College of Architecture and Urban Planning, Sino-German Transportation Research Center, Rail Transportation Institute and Foreign Affairs Office attended the meeting.
Pei Gang delivered a warm welcome to the delegation. He said Technical University of Berlin was the key university for the cooperation of Tongji University to Germany. The two universities had a good basis of cooperation over years, and raised talents by dual-degree programs in the field of urban planning, economic and etc. Pei Gang suggested building trilateral cooperation agencies during Tongji University, Technical University of Berlin and Fraunhofer Association for the future cooperation; building “100+100” model which meant Tongji sent 100 students from various departments to Germany and accepted 100 students from Technical University of Berlin every year by dual-degree programs, student exchange programs or summer school programs; Carrying out cooperation in the subjects of Transportation, construction, environment, engineering management and industrial design to complete the transformation from economical campus to sustainable developing university and established “Smart Campus”.
Steinbach suggested encouraging more young professionals to join in the team of Sino-German cooperation. Pei Gang agreed with him and invited more professor delegation from Technical University of Berlin to visit Tongji for the close cooperation as a heritage during professors.

After the meeting, president Pei Gang and president Steinbach signed an intention letter for strategic cooperation which aimed at building platform for dialogue between two universities.
During the visit, Steinbach and the delegation also visited Sino-German College, detailed the cooperation and met with the teachers and students in the dual-degree program of College of Architecture and Urban Planning,
