Former president of Seychelles Sir Mancham visited Tongji University

On the afternoon of September 8th, Sir James · Mancham, former president of Seychelles, visited Tongji University accompanied by Philip • Le Jiaer, Seychelles Ambassador to China. Prof. Wu Jiang, vice-president of Tongji and dean of United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) – Tongji Institute of Environment and Sustainable Development (IESD), met with Sir Mancham and the delegation at Run Run Shaw Building.

At the meeting, Prof. Wu Jiang welcomed Mancham and the delegation on behalf of Tongji University and briefed the development history, programma characteristics and comprehensive strength of Tongji, hoped there would be chance to cooperate with Seychelles in education and science. Sir Mancham appreciated for the warm reception from Tongji and recalled the cooperation of economic technology as well as sustainable development of economic trade since the relationship establishment of Sino-Seychelles. He highly appreciated international cooperation in Tongji and hoped to build partnership between universities in Seychelles and Tongji University. Then, Prof Jiang Dahe from UNEP-Tongji IESD briefed the current status of environment and sustainable development in China.

After the meeting, Sir Mancham visited UNEP- Tongji IESD and state key laboratory.
