On August 18th, over 1200 students selected from Hong Kong universities or middle schools gathered on Tongji campus to participate into the National Education. Themed as Exploration and Inheritance of Chinese Culture, the National Education aims at helping Hong Kong students to understand Chinese traditions, economic and social development in mainland.

At the opening ceremony, Prof. Dong Qi, Vice President of Tongji University and Benjamin Yung, Principal Education Officer of Education Bureau of Hong Kong SAR Government delivered speeches respectively. A keynote speech on World Expo planning and Tongji’s contributions was given by Jiang Fuming, Vice President of Tongji University afterwards.
