On June 3rd, the delegation of Luxembourg led by H.R.H. Prince Guillaume and H.E. Jeannot Krecké Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade visited Tongji University. Prof. Li Yongsheng, Executive Vice President, extended warmly welcome to all the distinguished guests from Luxembourg, followed by an introduction on Tongji’s history and its three characteristics namely the discipline chain, international exchange & cooperation and social service. The guests of Luxembourg also met with 8 students of Tongji, admitted by University of Luxembourg and now working as volunteers in the Luxembourg Pavilion. They showed warm welcome for students’ future study in Luxembourg.

Afterwards, Minister Jeannot Krecké made a presentation of Luxembourg, a small but beautiful country, to more than 150 Tongji teachers and students. He also showed the three advantages of Luxembourg namely steeling, finance and IT; the role of Luxembourg as a founding member of EU symbolized by the Treat of Schengen, a small town within Luxembourg; the solidarity of EU member countries faced to Greece crisis; the different measures of Europe-China-US about the policies of finances, monetary, and the ratio of public debts over GDP, especially the exchange of Euro/US Dollar. All the teachers and students paid great attention to the speech and raised many questions.
