On March 30, President Pei Gang met with Clini, Director of Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea , who had a visit to Tongji University. As a council member of Tongji University, director Clini carried out active joint projects in the research fields of automobile, energy, environment, etc, and helped to bring out ITTTC(Italian-Tongji Technology Transferring Center) between Italian Ministry of Environment, Land and Sea and Tongji University in 2005.

During their meeting, president Pei Gang and Director Clini talked about current cooperation, both of them hoped to extend and further cooperation based on current joint work. Both sides agreed to set up a fund for teaching post, build an international professor team, and carry out high quality joint project for science research. Based on this, ITTTC would be brought into the big cooperation scope for Italy by Tongji University to attract more joint projects from Italian organizations and corporations. Further more, director Clini introduced the “Sino-Italy climate change research center”, a project supported by EU and co-established with Tsinghua University, and related science research project. Sino-Italy two sides would hold negotiation about this kind of cooperation in Tongji University.

In the meeting, two sides discussed about deepening joint research in the field of mini hybrid vehicle and other projects.
