2nd ISASWR•LCE Held Successfully

From December 7thto 10th, the 2ndInternational Symposium on Aqua Science, Water Resource and Low Carbon Energy (2ndISASWR LCE) hosted by Tongji University was held successfully.

This Symposium had 7 themes and 8 special reports. The 7 themes were how to prevent climatic deterioration; how to control water pollution; how to allocate water resources; how to keep harmonious relationship between forests, mountains, rivers and plains; what’s the relationship between municipal sewer systems, groundwater and seawater; what the transformation of environmental substance cause; the origin of water, the earth and the universe. The 8 reports were about hydroscience, water resource and its treatment, waste disposal, energy and low carbon systems, water and materials design, process and new technology, strategy and international conflict, environmental evaluation and management. Over 180 experts and scholars from China, France, Japan, US, Britain, Canada and Korea attended the Symposium. The forum received more than 230 papers and abstracts.

Jin Fangming, Specially-appointed Professor of Cheung Kong Scholars Program from Tongji Environmental Science and Engineering College hosted the opening ceremony. Prof. Marrin from US Water Science & Insights, Prof. Smith and Ishida from Tohoku University Japan, Prof. Yamasaki from Osaka University, Prof. Habashi from Laval University Canada, Prof. Roustan from INSA Toulouse France, Prof. Zhang Youkuan from Tongji University and Prof. Xia Siqing from Nanjing University made lectures for the Symposium. The conventioneers exchanged ideas about present research highlights.
