Tongji Ranked Tenth among Mainland Universities in 2009 THE-QS World University Ranking

QS (Quacquarelli Symonds), a famous high education research institute in Britain makes a ranking list of world universities every year withThe Times Higher Education Supplement(THES). According to the 2009 ranking list onthe Times, 11 Chinese mainland universities entered the top 500. They were Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, Shanghai Jiaotong University, University of Science and Technology of China, Nanjing University, Zhejiang University, Jilin University, Tianjin University, Tongji University and Xi'an Jiaotong University according to the sequence.

This year, the institute made an Asian university ranking list for the first time. The evaluation indicators included academic peer review, research strength, staff & student radio, teaching staff and students’ feedback, internationalization of teachers and students. 11 Chinese mainland universities entered the top 100 and Tongji ranked 94thin the list.
