On November 25th, the University President Pei Gang met with Mr. Surendra, Director of UNEP Resource Coordination Department. This was their second meeting after last one in Nairobi this July. The two sides discussed the further cooperation between Tongji University and UNEP. They agreed to promote cooperation in sustainable development policy, international education and training for UNEP-Tongji Institute ofEnvironmentfor Sustainable Development. They also discussed the specifics of the cooperation next year. After the meeting, Pei Gang conferred Mr. Surendra the Magnolia MemorialAward. Shanghai municipal government established this award for those international friends who had made outstanding contribution to Shanghai.
