On November 25th, Tongji University Competition of Innovative Clean Energy and Award Ceremony was held. Jointly planned by US Clean Tech Open and Kauffman Foundation, this competition was sponsored by Shanghai Technology EntreprenurshipFoundationFor Graduates (STEFG)and hosted by Tongji University.
From October 18thto November 8th, the organizer received 42 works, among which 20 outstanding ones and then 7 were chosen after the primary and secondary selection. Prof. Ren Jie from Materials Science College, Prof. Zhao Youcai from College of Environmental Science, Prof. Gao Shenlan from AutomotiveCollege acted as the expert judges. They had an interview assessment of the 7 outstanding works and chose one First Prize, two Second Prizes three Third Prizes, one Best Innovation Award and one Best Energy-saving Award. Finally, the worksun-tracking concentrating thermoelectric-hot water combined systemdesigned byBian Jiang and Li Yujie from TongjiMechanical Engineering College won the First Prize. The Prize-winning works would be sent to San Francisco for international appraisal and the final winner would obtain newly-established enterprise services worthing about 100,000 dollars provided by clean energy experts.
