The 2009 Annual Meeting of Humboldt Scholars Association of Shanghai Overseas Returned Scholars Association (SORSA) was held on 9th November in Tongji University. More than 20 Humboldt Scholars in Shanghai attended the meeting. Notables who delivered welcome speeches include Prof. Zhou Jialun, Chairman of the University Council, Prof. Huang Hui, Vice President of SORSA, Dr. Von der Heyden, Consul-General of the German Consulate General in Shanghai, Prof. Xiang Haifan, Director of Humboldt Scholars Association Shanghai. Prof. Grucza, President of International Association for Germanics made the keynote speech titled “Distinctions between International and Domestic Germanic Studies”.
