German Tongji Alumni Association Held Annual Meeting

On October 11th, German Tongji Alumni Association held 2009 annual meeting in Berlin. Jiang Feng, Minister-Counselor of Education Department, Chinese Embassy in Germany and the University Vice-President Dong Qi addressed at the meeting. Zhang Chuanzeng, Chairman of German Tongji Alumni Association and professor of Siegen University made annual report. Vice Chairman of German Alumni Association Shen Guoqiang presided over the meeting and nearly a hundred alumni from various regions of Germany attended the meeting.

Jiang Feng spoke highly of the works the German Alumni Association had done, especially the Tongji Forum that had aroused enthusiastic responses from all circles in Germany and became one of the two activities sponsored by Education Department, Chinese Embassy in Germany. He also expressed the willing to continue providing support for German Alumni Association’s works.

Dong Qi introduced Tongji’s recent development and hoped German Alumni Association would go on supporting the university’s development, especially the university’s cooperation with the German side and high-qualified talents introduction.

In Zhang Chuanzeng’s annual report, he introduced two major works the Alumni Association had done last year, namely, strengthened the association’s website building and made plenty of preparation work for Tongji Forum. In alumni associations’ working conference held in May, German Tongji Alumni Association’s website was rated asExcellent Alumni Association’s Website.

During the meeting, Prof. Li Zhenyu, Director of Tongji Foreign Affairs Office introduced current talent evaluation criterion in China and gave advices on improving competitiveness to Tongji alumni in Germany.
