On October 7th, the university vice-president Chen Xiaolong and Tang Hongwei, Executive Deputy Director of New Energy Research Center attended Sustainable Development of 21st Century Higher Education International Forum held in Tokyo upon invitation. Chen Xiaolong gave a lecture titled Sustainable Campus Construction in Tongji University. As guests of honor, Chen Xiaolong and presidents of Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Tokyo University, Hosei University and United Nations University exchanged views on sustainable developing problems and direction of higher education and discussed developing problems in the 21st Century. During the forum, Prof. Tang Hongwei made a technical report about Tongji campus building energy-saving supervisory system on invitation.

The achievements and experiences Tongji University has obtained in building sustainble-developing campus aroused great concern and response on the forum. Conventioneers all spoke highly of Tongji’s green concept priority, technological breakthrough and innovation in disciplinary development.
