As an important activity of Sino-German Science-technology and Education Year and Berlin Asia-Pacific Week, the 100th Anniversary of Erich Paulun’s Death Memorial Photo Exhibition jointly held by Tongji University and in Berlin Hannover Confucius Institute put on display on October 10th in the City Hall of Berlin. On the evening of October 10th local time, an opening ceremony of the Photo Exhibition was held in the City Hall. About 200 people attended the ceremony, including Wu Qidi, member of NPC Standing Committee, the University Vice-President Dong Qi, Husung, Education and Culture Department of Berlin Municipal Government, Paulun‘s relatives and some guests of Tongji Forum. Before the ceremony, the University President Pei Gang paid a special visited to the exhibition and had a cordial talk with Husung and Paulun‘s granddaughter. During the ceremony, on behalf of the University, Wu Qidi and Dong Qi presented Paulun‘s portrait and miniature versions of the exhibition as gifts. Dong Qi, Husung and Paulun‘s granddaughter made speeches respectively.

This exhibition was divided into three parts: first, Erich Paulun and his family, which mainly introduced the life of Erich Paulun; second, Erich Paulun and Tongji Medical College, which mainly introduced the founding process of Tongji Medical College; third, Tongji University-the window of cultural exchange with Germany, which mainly introduced Tongji’s history, programs and achievements in cooperation with German side. The exhibition won unanimous favorable comments from the audiences, who spoke highly of Erich Paulun’s contribution and Tongji’s achievements and importance in cooperation with Germany.

During the exhibition, Wu Hongbo, Chinese ambassador in Germany paid a visit to the City Hall. Touring exhibitions would be held in Bonn, Wolfenbuttel and Hamberg later.
