Recently, the University Vice-President Dong Qi met with the delegation of University of Bologna led by its Vice-President Roberto Grandi. Dong Qi expressed welcome to the guest and thanks for his effort in cooperation between Tongji and Bologna. In November 2007, Tongji and University of Bologna signed the undergraduate automation dual-degree program. Grandi’s visit this time was to discuss the details of this program and cooperation plan in other areas.

The two sides developed communication on the following cooperation areas: dual-degree programs including undergraduate automation and other majors, international cooperative curriculum based on English language platform, opening preparatory course class for University of Bologna in Tongji and cooperation in 2010 Shanghai World Expo. The two sides would develop popularization campaign jointly in Italian pavilion, Emilia-Romagna exhibition hall.

Both sides expressed their hope to launch and implement further cooperation in International curriculum and other areas as soon as possible.
