Tongji IFCIM Celebrated Its 10th Anniversary

Sino-FrenchInstitute of Engineering and Management (IFCIM), Sino-French Institute for short, was jointly established with Paris Tech in 1999 celebrated its 10thanniversary on May 17th.

The celebration meeting was held in 129 Assembly Hall. The former University President Wu Qidi, Hervé Ladsous, French ambassador in China, the University President Pei Gang, Cyrille Van Effenterre, Chairman of Paris Tech addressed at the meeting. Zhou Zuyi, Vice-Director ofOrganizationDepartment, CPC Shanghai Committee, former Executive Vice-Secretary of the University Party Committee, Vice-President and former director of Sino-French Institute were appointed as chief councilors of Sino-French Institute.

In Wan Gang’s congratulatory letter, he said Sino-French Institute integrated characteristics, strength and resources of universities and enterprises in China and France and cultivated high-level, internationalized talents in the fields of engineering and management. As an example of Sino-French cooperation, it made great contributions for education and scientific exchange between China and France.

20 large enterprises including Air France Group, Total, Electricité de France, Michelin, Shanghai Construction Bank, Construction Engineering Group, Shentong Subway Group, Zhangjiang Group, etc assumed board members of Sino-French Institute. They provided financial support for the institute construction and some of them provided scholarships, studying and working opportunities for the students.

Presidents from nearly 30 universities in China and France attended the Sino-French University President Forum. They discussed the future cooperative prospects between China and France, the founding of Sino-French University Alumni Association. They were also present at the Sino-French Institute retrospective exhibition and teaching achievements exhibition of SIMBA Project.
