From May 7th to 9th, Shell Eco-marathon (Europe) was held in Eurospeedway, Germany. Zhiyuan Energy-saving Motorcade made up of Prof. Di Ming, students Yang Ying, Ma Dongyi and Cai Lushen from Tongji Automotive College went to participate the race in Germany. this was the first time for Chinese universities to send teams for the race.

The vehicle inspection began on May 6th. Zhiyuan Motorcade passed the test the next day and gave good performances in the two days’ official competition. The motorcade obtained a result of 540km/L., ranking 54 in the 143 prototype motorcades (including fuel battery, solar energy and other kinds of fuels)

During the race, President of Shell met with Zhiyuan Team. The team received interviews of Shell Official, Hong Kong, Malaysia Chinese press, German TV station and other media.

At last, Tongji team received Perseverance in the face of Adversity Award by its outstanding performance.
