On May 8th, the University Vice-President Dong Qi met with the delegation of Italian FIAT (China) Group.

Dong Qi expressed welcome to the guests and introduced the close relationship between Tongji University and FIAT as well as the cooperation with Italian side in recent years. Yu Zhuoping, the University President Assistant and Dean of Automotive College introduced the development of Tongji Automotive College and Shanghai ground transportation wind tunnel center, especially the research finds in electrical automobiles, aerodynamics, vibration and noise control of automobiles. He hoped to develop cooperation with FIAT in the above fields.

Meng Feixuan, Director of FIAT (China) Commercial Company introduced the history and development in China and abroad of the group. The General-Manager of FPT located in Jiading District was satisfied with the cooperation with Tongji Automotive College.

The two sides agreed on two fundamental cooperative goals: talents cultivating project characterized by corporation directive training and scientific cooperation project based on resources from the two sides. They also agreed to organize the University President Pei Gang’s visiting of FIAT headquarter in Turin in the later half of May.
