On the morning of March 26th, the University President Pei Gang met Prof. Yrjo Sotamaa, founder and former Chairman of CUMULUS (International Association of Universities and colleges of Art, Design and Media), President of University of Art & Design Helsinki.
Pei expressed warm welcome and thanks to the guest for his contribution after assuming Chairman of InternationalExpertadvisory Committee for Tongji Creative Design College. Then Pei learned about the school-running situation of Creative Design College and preparation work Tongji had done for the CUMULUS conference. He expected the Tongji Creative Design College could develop smoothly with international standard. He also hoped the CUMULUS conference would attract more talents’ attention and achieve promised goals based on the chances of Shanghai 2010 World Expo and Shanghai Biennial. Prof. Sotamaa agreed on this point and proposed the internationalization and diversification as inexorable developing trend for education and scientific research. He also said that CUMULUS conference could not go on without Tongji’s assistance.
