On the morning of March 12th, the University Executive Vice-President Li Yongsheng met Dr. James O’Leckie and his delegation upon invitation. He is a member of US National Academy of Engineering (NAE), lifetime professor of Stanford University and celebrated environmental chemist.
Li warmly welcomed the guests and introduced Tongji’s history of development, the current disciplinary construction, campuses development, international exchange and cooperation of our university, especially the favorable cooperation and communication between Tongji and American universities. He hoped to strengthen exchange and cooperation between Tongji and Stanford in the future.
Dr. James O’Leckie expressed gratitude for Li and You jiangxin’s warm reception. He agreed to strengthen the exchange of post-doctorates and young teachers as well as develop cooperation on scientific research and educate training between the two sides.
You Jianxin, Assistant Dean of Chinese Academy of Science & Technology Management, Prof. Wang Guangbin, Dr. Zhu Yanmei, Dr. Shao Lu’ning of Tongji University and Dr. Wang Jie from Stanford University were present at the meeting.
