On December 18th, the University President Pei Gang met the international consultancy experts from Tongji Institute of Design at Tongji Architectural and Urban Planning College. They discussed about the disciplinary development and school management of Tongji Institute of Design. The experts gave systematic and constructive suggestions on teaching faculty, students’ resource, construction pf international course, localities and facilities, communications, management mechanism, brand strategy and funds, etc. Pei Gang spoke highly of these proposals and directed orderly implement of these proposals as soon as possible.
The participant experts were Yrjo Sotamaa, the former President of University of Art and Design Helsinki, founder and Honorary President of CUMULUS, Anthony Jones, former President of the world-renowned London Royal Academy of Arts and Art Institute of Chicago, Prof. Nigel Cross, President of International Design Research Association, Prof. Patrick Whitney, President of Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) and American Center for Design (ACD), Prof. Mark Breitenberg, President of American Art Center Design Academy and International Council of Societies of Industrial Design (ICSID), Prof. Lorraine Justice, Dean ofHong KongPolytechnic University School of Design, Helfried Hagenberg, founder and Dean of College of Design, University of Applied Sciences Düsseldorf, Prof. Jan Stael Von Holstein, the celebrated design expert of brand strategy, etc.
