On December 6th, the 1stBoqi CupNational College Students Social Practice and Scientific Contest of Energy Conservation and Emission Reduction ended in Zhejiang University. Tongji Students obtained two Second Prizes, three Winning Prizes and Excellent Organization Prize. A food waste compost-applier designed by Sun Peng and Chen Shuai, undergraduates of Grade 05 from College of Mechanical Engineering and membrane transferring solar energy designed by Li Qing and Liu Jie, undergraduates of Grade 07 from Department of Physics were awarded Second Prizes after fierce competition.
This contest was sponsored by Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Education, and was aimed at cultivating innovation and practical abilities as well as team spirit so as to improve the comprehensive qualities of the university students. The entries in the contest cover several fields relating to energy conservation and emission reduction from manufacturing production, daily life, and regional social development to academic research fronts. 100 team selected from 600 entries done by 100 colleges and universities nationwide fought in the contest.
