From November 21stto 23rd, an international academic conference on multi-national construction projects titledSecuring High Performance through Cultural Awareness and Dispute Avoidancewas held in Tongji. This conference was jointly held by Tongji University and International Council for Research and Innovation in Building and Construction (CIB). Among the 80 representatives presenting at the meeting, 30 scholars came from Britain, Holland, South Korea, France, USA, Australia, Turkey, Malaysia, South Africa and New Zealand, etc.
Jiang Fuming, Vice-Secretary of the University Party Committee, Wang Wei, Vice-President of CIB and Director of MOC Engineering Center for Green Buildings and Prof. Richard Fellows, Chairperson of the conference from Hong Kong University were presient at the conference and gave the welcome addresses.
During the conference, the experts and scholars exchanged ideas and experience on the latest development and research results of solutions to cultural differences and conflicts in multi-national construction projects and studied the high performances in these projects as well.
