On October 13, the first certificate awarding ceremony of Technical University Berlin (TUB) and Tongji University (TU) “urban design” dual master degree program and the opening ceremony of the third joint training program were grandly held in TUB. More than 80 teachers and students from TUB and TU attended the ceremony.

Kutzler, President of TUB, Zhou Jialun, Director of TU Affairs Commission, R. Schaefer, Dean of School of Planning, Building and Environment (SPBE) of TUB, and Wu Zhiqiang, Dean of College of Architecture and Urban Planning (CAUP) of Tongji University delivered speeches successively. They all highly appraised the fruitful results of TUB-TU “Urban Design” dual-master joint training program in the exploration of Sino-German universities joint training master students and its great pushing effect in the process of exchange between two universities. Both parties expressed that they will continue to make a go of it and promote joint training to a higher and deeper level.

Afterwards, the leaders of two universities awarded master degree certificates to each other’s students.

TUB-TU “Urban Design” dual-master joint training program was firstly carried out in 2006. In June of 2008, the first group of Chinese and German students, altogether 27, finished their thesis defense at TU, in September, the second group of students of joint training program finished their study in TUB and returned to TU to start their thesis writing, and in October, the third group Chinese students, altogether 20, arrived at TUB to start their one-year study.
