On July 3rd, Ministry of Education held and emergency meeting with designing institutes of 7 universities—Tongji University, Qinghua University and Tianjin University, etc. assigning the task of architecturaldesign for the rebuilding schools.
After the Wenchuan Earthquake, 30 advanced projects of rebuilding schools were started. Commissioned by Ministry of Education, Tongji ArchitecturalDesignInstitute undertook the architecturaldesign work for 7 of these schools—North District School of Dujiang Dam City, Zhongxing Middle School of Zhongxing Town, Mianyang City, Shuren Middle School of Guangyuan City, the Third Middle School of Hanyuan County, Ya’an City, Jiuxiang Town Primary School of Hanyuan County, Ya’an City, Datian Junior Middle School of Hanyuan County, Ya’an City and Baoxing Middle School of Baoxing County, Ya’an City.
