Nearly 100 Foreign and Domestic Experts Held Seminar about Biomass Fuels in Tongji

As a kind of green renewable energy source, research and application of biomass fuels claimed worldwide attention. On June 17th,International Biomass Fuels Seminarwas held at International Assembly Center on Jiading Campus of Tongji University. Nearly 100 foreign and domestic scholars and business people from China, US, Japan and Europe exchanged the latest achievements and shared experiences in the research and application of biomass fuels as well as its future development.

This seminar was hosted byCollegeof Automobile, and sponsored by Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE International). The University Executive Vice-President Li Yongsheng and Mr.Frank Palmer from SAE addressed at the seminar.

This seminar was consisted of 8 theme lectures. The lecturers came from MIT,Universityof California, Berkeley, Argonne NationalLaboratory,Universityof Michigan, Wayne StateUniversity,LoughboroughUniversity,Universityof Windsor and Tongji University respectively. Prof. Li Liguang fromCollegeof Automobile, Tongji was one of them. The themes of the lectures involved the opportunities and challenges of biomass fuels, studies on the low-temperature combustion of biodiesel, the application of biofuels on modern internal-combustion engine, the flexible fuel technologies, the future development of biomass fuels and some other significant aspects. After the lectures, a seminar between academic circle and business circle was held.
