From June 20th to 28th, the University Vice-President Li Guoqing led a delegation of Tongji to visit Italian cooperative universities and related institutions.

On June 20th, the delegacy met the Tongji students at Turin Polytechnic University and communicated with them about the issues of language training, lodging and employment. On June 21st, the delegation members attended the 2nd plenary session of Sino-Italian College-POLITONG Council held at Milan Polytechnic University. Bario, President of Milan Polytechnic University, Naldi, Vice-President of Turin Polytechnic University and the other Italian professors participating in the Sino-Italian College cooperative project were also present at the session. The three universities unanimously agreed to establish a POLITONG Strategic Advisory Committee and passed the Committee constitutions after discussion. This provided a systemic guarantee for the effective cooperation between POLITONG and enterprises, governments individuals and other social resources as well as the sustainable development of cooperation with Italian side. The three universities also agreed to hold the Sino- Italian Engineering Education Conference in the latter half of the year to promote the exchange and cooperation on engineering education between the two countries.

During visiting, the delegacy visited the principal cooperation universities: Turin Polytechnic University, Milan Polytechnic University, Istituto Universitario di Studi Superiori di Pavia (IUSS), Università degli Studi di TRENTO, Università di Bologna, Università per Stranieri di PERUGIA, Universita degli Studi di Roma and Tor Vergata and communicated with the government organizations of Emilia-Romagna and Trento. This visiting developed the mutual understanding between the cooperative sides and promoted the development of the cooperative projects.
