Recently, Tongji University Alumni (Singapore) was established. The University president Pei Gang wrote the congratulatory letter and Jiang Fuming, vice secretary of the University Party Committee made a special-purpose trip to Singapore to attend the founding ceremony. The website of Tongji University Singapore Alumni Association was opened at the same time.

More than 150 Tongji alumni were in Singapore currently. In August 2007, Tongji University Alumni (Singapore) was registered officially in Singapore Ministry of Interior. After the registration, the alumni association held meetings, lectures and forums frequently and dedicated in helping the alumni to solve the problems in life and work. Wang Hou was the president of Singapore Alumni Association and Shi Xu, Wu Yue, the vice-presidents.

During the ceremony, the association proposed that all the Tongji alumni in Singapore care about Sichuan earthquake disaster and provide financial assistance for the earthquake victims. The alumni and guests present donated money generously in succession.
