On the afternoon of May 21st, accompanied by Mr. Lars Andreasson, consul general of Swedish Consulate in Shanghai, Ms. Karin Markides, President of Sweden Chalmers University of Technology and Dr. Jorgen Sjoberg, Consultant of the President visited Tongji University. The Executive Vice-president Li Yongsheng met the guests.
Ms. Karin Markides first expressed her sorrow for Sichuan struck by the earthquake and admire towards the effective and timely measures our country had taken. Li Yongsheng introduced to the guests the actions Tongji had taken in the disaster relief. Then, the two parties communicated on the future possible cooperation fields and modes and agreed to develop cooperation from graduate students and from the fields of architecture, automotive engineering and sustainable development study. Ms. Karin Markides also hoped our university could accept their students to study Chinese and major courses in Tongji and welcomed our students to study in their university.
After the meeting, the guests visited the Architecture & Urban Planning College of Tongji.
