On the afternoon of April 1st, Prof. Hans-Peter Dürr, the Alternative Nobel Prize winner, Dean of German Max Planck Institute of Physics, professor of physics in University of Munich visited our university and gave a lecture namedCoexistance of Human Beings with GAIA as a Dynamic Sustainable Systemmainly for students and teachers in Environmental Engineering College. The lecture covered modern physics, chemistry, philosophy, social science, economics; and made conceptual exploration on the problems of human and global environment. Prof. Hans-Peter Dürr’ s splendid speech helped the audience understand deeply the meaning of dynamic sustainability and form a new view on the present energy problems. After interactive questions, many students stayed for further communication with Prof. Hans-Peter Duerr.

That night, Vice-president Yang Dongyuan met Prof. Hans-Peter Dürr and Prof. Lin Liangsi, Dean of Environment and Transportation Study Office in Nagoya University who promoted this visit. Experts and professors from our university in the fields of environmental science, social science, economics and philosophy were also present at the meeting. They discussed and exchanged ideas on many fields from science to culture and spirit, from economics to philosophy and religion, from concept to fact as well as technology, politics, life ideas and manners.
