12 international students of Tongji University won Shanghai Government Scholarship for International Students Class C of 2007 (Excellent Students Scholarship) and other 24 won President’s Scholarship of Tongji University. On the afternoon of March 14th, the award ceremony was held in Yifu Building. The Executive Vice President Li Yongsheng and the President’s Assistant Dong Qi conferred the award for them and offered congratulations.
According to the Office of International Students, these 36 students came from 8 colleges of the University. Among them there were 1 PhD candidate, 13 graduate students and 22 undergraduate students form 22 countries including Germany, Vietnam, Thailand, Mongolia and Australia etc.
One of the winners, Tai Linsong, a graduate student of Grade 2005 majoring in Architectural History and Theory made a speech as the representative. He expressed his thanks for Shanghai Government and Tongji University and his resolution to study harder hereafter.
It was the first time the Shanghai Government Scholarship for International Students and the second time the President’s Scholarship were awarded in Tongji University.
