President Pei Paid a Visit to Germany

President Pei paid a visit to Germany from Oct. 2nd to 9th. On his meeting of Ms. Dzwonnek, the Secretary General of DFG, Dr. Bode, the General Secretary of DAAD, Prof. Kutzler, the President of Technical University of Berlin, Prof. Gruss, the Chairman of MPG and Dr. Tagscherer, the Director of Asia Region of Fraunhofer Association, President Pei introduced the international recruitment of seven deanships in Tonji University, and 100 PhD candidates studying abroad programs. During his stay in Germany, President Pei also visited Federal President Office, PM’s Office and Ministry of Education and Research.

During his visit in Berlin, President Pei discussed the cooperation program of Sino- German Friendship Hospital with Siemens Project Venture and Asklepios Management Company, and proposed highlights on the cooperation of the project.

Besides, President Pei made a speech in the 2ndSino-Gernan President Forum, which was launched by Peking University and Homburg University. The 1stForum was held in Beijing, while the 2ndin Berlin. In his speech, President Pei said, Tongji University would like to host the 3rd Forum with Eberhard-Karls University, which gained support of other Presidents.
