President Wan praised highly the achievements in French literature made by Prof. Cheng. He expressed the hope that Prof. Cheng could impart “knowledge, thoughts, spirit, belief” to the students in Tong Ji and encourage them to struggle for peace and development of China and France, even the whole world.

Impressed by the friendship with Chinese youth, Prof. Cheng will continue to devote himself into culture exchange and development of China and France. “The exchange and talk between China and France is deep and thorough instead of superficial and one sided. Only in this way, one culture can absorb the merits from other cultures to achieve creativity in real sense.”
