A group of Tongji's old alumni graduated from Department of Civil Engineering in 1956 got together in their mother college to celebrate their 50thgraduation anniversary. Among them there are Chen Tiedi, former director of the standing committee of Shanghai People’s Delegation Conference and head of Shanghai Charity Foundation, Huang Dingye, vice president of Tongji Alumni Association. Vice President Zhao Jianfu met the old alumni, while Yu Guohua, deputy secretary general of Tongji Alumni Association introduced the preparation work for Tongji's 100thAnniversary.
It is not easy to meet again after half a century. Those alumni recalled their campus life and found them back to their youth. After the meeting, they visited Tongji’s library, College of Civil Engineering, Jiading Campus, as well as the Yangshan Harbor in Pudong New District.
