On the night of June 12^thlocal time, the three-day long clean-energy automobile Bibendum Challenge 2006 was closed in Paris. Two hydrogen fuel cell automobiles designed by Tongji College of Automobile Engineering team headed by Tongji President Wan Gang.

On June 11^th, all Chinese autos arrived Eifell Tower in line with rally requirement, exhibiting China’s achievements of clean energy technology to Paris public. Test result shows that two fuel-cell automobilesChaoyue IIIdeveloped by Tongji scientists won full A_sin four key indexes of waste gas emission, energy efficiency, engine noise and CO₂emission. In the 100 kilometers test, hydrogen consumption of the two auto are only 1.03 kg and 1.04 kg, much fewer than similar autos. Despite the outer design that takes from other brand, the key index have impressed foreign experts who claimed that China’ fuel-cell automobile technology have reached international advanced level.

It is reported that one lithium-cell automobile developed by CITIC GUOAN MGL, and one natural gas light motor developed by Shanghai Forever Holding Co. Ltd. also attended theBibendum Challengeand won the prizes.
