The play Every Brilliant Thing is staged on Siping Campus

Adapted from the original play by Duncan Macmillan, a British playwright, Every Brilliant Thing is co-produced by Shanghai Dramatic Art Center and Shanghai Huayi Culture Communication Co., Ltd., charting in a humorous way the story of how the protagonist struggling with depression manages to cure himself. Whilst retaining the original story line, the Chinese version of the play has changed the setting of the story and added a string of Chinese elements, defining the protagonist as a Chinese "post-80s" youth. The play attempted to strike a chord with the audience by including folk songs, games, TV plays and folk customs familiar to the audience, who broke into applause after the performance.
