Tongji University-hosted international journal Resilient Cities and Structures launched

On November 9th 2021, the inaugural meeting of the new Tongji University-hosted international journal Resilient Cities and Structures (RCS) was successfully held online. Nineteen editorial board members from Asia, America, Europe, and Oceania attended the meeting.

 

Inaugural meeting of Resilient Cities and Structures journal

RCS is the first academic journal in the world that pivots around the theme of "Resilient City". The scope of the journal includes fundamental research, innovative technologies and engineering applications related to resilient cities, infrastructure, structures and resilience-based management. Prof. LU Xilin from Tongji University, member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, serves as the honorary editor of the journal. Prof. ZHOU Ying from Tongji University, Prof. Michel Bruneau from University at Buffalo (USA), and Prof. Gian Paolo Cimellaro from Polytechnic of Turin (Italy) serve as the Editors-in-Chief. The journal will be published by the international publisher Elsevier.

At the inaugural meeting, Prof. ZHOU and Prof. Bruneau delivered welcome speeches. Ms. ZHOU Wenyi, on behalf of Elsevier Publishing Group, congratulated the editorial board of RCS on the launch of the journal. In a discussion chaired by Prof. Cimellaro, the members of the editorial board exchanged opinions on the future development of RCS journal, including quality control, review process, operation, and marketing. The editors reached consensus that RCS journal will adhere to the goal of high-quality development, and strive to become a leading journal in the field of Resilient City.
