On December 10th, the 7th Student Community Culture Festival of Tongji University was held in the Music Square of Siping Campus. The event, organized by the Student Work Department (SWD) of the CPC Committee and the University Logistics Department, was planned and prepared by student community tutors .SWD , College of Freshmen, the Youth League Committee, School of Marxism, the Logistics Department, and heads of student dormitories and student tutors from the Siping Campus participated in the Festival.

Ten students were awarded the Best Student Dormitory Leader 2021. JIA Weiyi from the College of Architecture and Urban Planning delivered a speech on behalf of the best student dormitory leaders, sharing her ways of creating good atmosphere in the dormitory; and XU Yifan spoke on behalf of student tutors. He expressed his wish to become real friends with students in the community through understanding their needs and helping them with their problems in life.

The festival’s cultural contents were displayed both on boards which integrated Tongji campus culture and community characteristics, and demonstrated with activities where students could have hands-on experience. At the festival, students could feel the beauty of the campus and the warmth of the community. Seven stalls and twelve activities showed different themes on the student community life, including traditional culture, Tongji history, physical and mental health, public welfare, campus food, and dormitory decoration. The activities attracted 500 visitors and over 70,000 online views. Nearly 200 people took pictures in the picture frame, 180 succulents were planted, 150 annoyances were tackled with the help of drifting bottles, over 80 people made new pen friends, nearly 200 people traced the history of the university on the map, and nearly 100 students wore traditional Chinese costumes Hanfu to experience the traditional culture.

Tongji University is one of the pilot universities of the Ministry of Education for the development of a "one-stop" student community management. Tongji is committed to integrating ideological and political education with students' daily life in a realistic and friendly way. "Student Community Culture Festival", as a brand activity, was held successfully for seven times. The student tutors will continue to take the lead in innovating their work ethics, understanding students' needs, and turning the community to a warm harbor for students.
