SAMPE was founded in 1944 as Society of Aircraft Material and Process Engineers with the goal to promote research and development of aerospace composite materials. It is an international professional member society and provides information on new materials and processing technology either via conferences, exhibitions, technical forums, publications, or books in which professionals in this field can exchange ideas and air their views. At present, the society has 39 professional chapters and 50 student chapters worldwide.
