
Recently, the 8th German Music Week of Tongji University came to a close successfully. The German Music Week was jointly sponsored by Tongji University Sino-German Cultural Exchange & Research Center, Tongji University Sino-German Music Research Center and Troxingen National Conservatory of Music of Germany. With the theme of "Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the Diplomatic Relations between China and Germany", five online concerts were held. The concert videos were released in the "Tongji Video" of the Tongji University website and pushed through the "Sino-German Cultural Exchange" WeChat official account.
It has been eight years since the German Music Week of Tongji University was initiated in 2015. This year coincides with the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Germany. As a window for exchanges between China and Germany, both parties attached great importance to this event. It was hoped that German Music Week would inherit the long tradition of cooperation between China and Germany, deepen their profound friendship, and walk hand in hand to create a better future together through music.
There were five online concerts, each of which focusing on a specific theme, including one performed by winners of the Baden-Württemberg State Youth Music Competition in Germany, a special one of innovative jazz "Recipe Conference" and the premiere of the sixth short film series of "The Sound of Pictures" which is a Sino-German cooperation project. At the same time, classical music and modern music, oriental music, and western music are integrated to create a harmonious tone. The last concert is a special one for "Sino-German Youth Music Exchange Season" which is performed by the winners of this year's Chinese Youth Music Competition-Hummingbird Music Award and the winners of the German Jugend Musiziert Youth Music Competition, showing a beautiful scene of Sino-German cultural exchanges.
Eight years of great efforts brew a new song of cultural exchange In the past eight years, Tongji University's German Music Week has formed a unique cultural brand, which not only further deepened Sino-German artistic and cultural exchanges, but also played the role of Tongji University's cooperation with Germany in the art general education of the university, and became a vivid practice of Sino-German cultural exchanges.
