Undergraduates win one first prize in the finals of the National College Students Embedded Chip and System Design Competition 2023

The finals for Application Track of the 6th National College Students Embedded Chip and System Design Competition were held on August 18th. Under the leadership of Xu Hegen and Zhang Zhiming from the College of Electronic and Information Engineering, four undergraduate teams from the university won one first prize, one second prize and two third prizes, achieving the best results in history. Xu Hegen and Zhang Zhiming of Tongji University won the Excellent Organization Award.

The competition organized by China Electronics Society is included in the league table of college student competitions in China, with its influence expanding day by day. Teachers and students from electronic and electrical or related majors across the country have become increasingly interested in joining the competition. Six topics were set for the application track: Haisi, Guanghetong, Qinheng, Loongson, Yifa and Boliu. The competition attracted 16,700 people from 6,107 teams of 507 colleges and universities. After several selections, 467 teams that won the first prize in regional competitions advanced to the national finals. In the national finals, 69 teams won first prize, 137 teams second prizes and 251 teams third prize, while 30 teachers from 22 universities won Excellent Organization Award.

The competition was supported by the university and colleges concerned. With the support of the Innovation Base College of Electronic and Information Engineering, the qualified teams continued to improve their works, and performed well in the on-site examination of the finals held in Nanjing, and eventually achieved the best results in history since Tongji took part in the competition. The team composed of students Xie Yuxuan, Shi Ziyan and Li Shuo won the first prize under the guidance of Xu Hegen. The team composed of students Ouyang Jindi, Han Yuxuan and Ma Jia won the second prize under the guidance of teachers Zhang Zhiming and Liu Runtian. Under the guidance of teachers Zhang Zhiming and Xu Hegen, the team composed of students Ma Chengyue, Li Qi and Xu Jieshi and the team composed of students Zhang Jiacheng, Cao Wenxu and Liu Yangping won third prize.

The competition not only enabled students to learn knowledge and skills at different technical levels including software and hardware adaptation, system optimization and application scheme design, but also helped them apply theoretical knowledge in practice and understood the needs of the industry. Students enhanced their innovative and practical ability by improving their learning through competition, thus helping the development of industry.
