It is located at No.7, 7 Lingang Hai’an Road, Pudong New Area, covering an area of 53,100 square meters, with a floor area of 16,600 square meters. The base was established and put to use in 2014 following the allocation of the plot of land by the Shanghai Municipal Government in 2008. As the Center of Marine Science and Technology of Tongji University and the Experiment Base of the National Key Laboratory of Marine Geology at Lingang New City, the Base is meant for national key laboratories and national major science and technology infrastructure.
