Since its founding in 1907, Tongji University had moved six times and eventually settled down at Siping Campus,1239 Siping Road, Yangpu District, Shanghai in 1946. At present, Siping Campus covers an area of 1,009,800 square meters, with a floor area of 1,074,600 square meters. There are 31,653 students, including 3,992 PhD students, 12,232 Master’s degree students, 11,961 Bachelor’s degree students and 3,468 international students. The total number of faculty and staff members is 4,262. 

As the administrative center of Tongji University, Siping Campus is home to College of Freshmen, College of Architecture and Urban Planning, School of Civil Engineering, School of Environmental Science and Engineering, School of Humanities, School of Law, Shanghai International College of Intellectual Property, School of Foreign Languages, School of Marxism, School of Political Science and International Relations, School of Ocean and Earth Science, School of Aerospace Engineering and Applied Mechanics, School of Mathematical Sciences, School of Physics Science and Engineering, School of Chemical Science and Engineering, College of Surveying and Geo-Informatics, School of Life Science and Technology, School of Medicine, College of Design and Innovation, Department of Physical Education, the International School, International College of Football, School of Innovation and Entrepreneurship. Here also stands several centers and institutes, including UNEP-Tongji Institute of Environment for Sustainable Development, Sino-Italian Campus, Sino-Spanish Campus, and Franco-Chinese Institute of Engineering and Management (Institut Franco-chinois D’ingénierie et de Management).

The future orientation of Siping Campus: a comprehensive campus to further promote the congregation of arts, sciences and engineering and to integrate the development of “university, high-tech park and community” led by the concept of a greater design.
